Every Young Person Deserves a Future

Imagine a generation of young people growing up believing that they have no future. Imagine children as young as twelve years old being recruited into gangs, introduced to drugs, surrounded by violence, and believing that crime is their only path in life.

Sadly, for thousands of young people across communities in Cape Town, this is not imagination—it is reality.

But we believe another story can be written. We believe that every young person has been created by God with incredible value, purpose, and potential. We believe that no community is beyond hope, no life is beyond redemption, and no situation is too difficult for the transforming power of Jesus Christ.

That belief gave birth to Kingdom Encounter SA.

Our Story

Kingdom Encounter SA (KESA) was founded by Marc Yates, Martie Jacobs, and Pastor Ryan Laubscher—three individuals united by one passion: to see the next generation encounter Jesus and experience lives transformed through the local church.

For many years Pastor Ryan has served churches throughout the South Peninsula and the greater Cape Town region. Through this ministry he has walked alongside pastors serving faithfully in some of the city's most vulnerable communities. These churches are filled with incredible leaders who love their communities and faithfully preach the Gospel every week. Yet many face the same challenge—they simply do not have the financial resources to employ full-time youth workers.

Without positive role models and consistent discipleship, many young people are left vulnerable to gangs, drugs, violence, and destructive influences. As these realities became more evident, one question continued to echo in our hearts: What if we could help the local church become the strongest influence in the lives of young people?

That question became our vision. Kingdom Encounter SA exists to strengthen local churches by equipping them with the resources they need to reach, disciple, mentor, and develop the next generation.

Why We Exist

We believe the local church is God's greatest instrument for transforming communities. Governments can introduce programmes. Communities can establish initiatives. Schools can educate. But only the Gospel has the power to completely transform a human heart.

When a young person encounters Jesus, everything changes. Hope replaces despair. Purpose replaces confusion. Freedom replaces addiction. Identity replaces rejection. Families begin to heal. Communities begin to change.

For this reason, Kingdom Encounter SA exists to strengthen churches already serving on the front lines of these communities. Rather than replacing the work of local churches, we partner with them, empowering pastors and leaders to reach young people where they live.

Our Primary Mission

One of our greatest dreams is to see churches throughout Cape Town equipped with passionate, trained Christian youth workers who are present every day—not only on Sundays. These leaders become mentors, coaches, disciplers, counsellors, and spiritual fathers and mothers to a generation desperately searching for belonging. They walk alongside teenagers. They preach the Gospel. They build healthy youth ministries. They create safe spaces where young people discover purpose, build lasting friendships, develop leadership skills, and experience the love of Christ.

Investing in the Next Generation

Our vision extends beyond youth ministry. Many young people possess incredible gifts and potential but remain trapped by poverty and limited educational opportunities. Kingdom Encounter SA is committed to creating bursary opportunities that provide underprivileged children with access to quality education. We believe education and discipleship together create lasting transformation.

Kingdom Encounter Mission Tours

Another exciting part of our vision is creating opportunities for churches and individuals from around the world to experience God's work in South Africa firsthand. Through our Kingdom Encounter Mission Tours, participants will partner with local churches, serve communities, participate in outreach projects, and experience authentic ministry within South Africa.

These encounters are more than mission trips. There are opportunities to build lifelong friendships, encourage local churches, experience different cultures, and witness God's Kingdom advancing across nations.

Our Ambassador

Lead Ndjate is our ambassador, breaking ground as the first person to be supported by Kingdom Encounter SA. This young man is passionate about youth work and is a good match for the mission, vision and objectives of our NPO. He is working as a Youth Leader and is also involved in school ministry, made possible by our supporters.

Together We Can Change the Story

We refuse to believe that gangs have the final word. We refuse to believe that poverty determines destiny. We refuse to believe that any young person is beyond the reach of God's love.

Together we can raise a generation that knows Christ, serves their communities, and becomes the leaders God created them to be.

Empowering Churches. Restoring Young Lives. Transforming Communities.

One Church. One Community. One Generation at a Time.
